Come celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Historical Mining Centre during a big weekend of festivities.
From 2nd to 5th May, free and open access to the site and exhibitions. Guided tour of the galleries at a reduced price.

FRIDAY 3rd MAI : FREE CONCERT – CARREAU EN SCÈNE

Stage open to artists from the Mining Basin territory, in all musical genres: Mc Lakpo (Rap), Folk you (acoustic covers), Osco (contemporary R&B), Mathilde Kaori (French song), Rivelaine (Rock), and Solo Zenithia (Hip hop/rap), were selected to participate in this evening.

This event is offered in partnership with the 9-9bis of Oignies.

From 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Free, upon reservation. With small catering (food trucks).

SATURDAY 4th MAY : BAL KUBIAK [FULL]

Come dance to Polish and current music from the famous Kubiak orchestra: covers of Céline Dion, Abba, Elton John, Juliette Armanet, Queen, Boney M, Dave, Vianney, Miley Cirus… to traditional polkas, waltzes and tangos, get ready for a musical evening that will make the floor of the Delloye pit vibrate.

From 8 p.m. to midnight. Free, upon reservation [FULL]. With small catering (food trucks).

SUNDAY 5th MAY : CELEBRATIONS AROUND THE BAPTISM OF THE GIANT OF THE HISTORICAL MINING CENTRE

In the morning, take part in the big party in honor of the baptism of the Giant of the Historical Mining Centre. Meet at 9:45 a.m. at Place des Vésignons in Lewarde, entertainment by the Elephant in the Boa company then a stroll with Giorgio Harmonie to the museum. More than thirty giants from the Nord and Pas-de-Calais will be gathered for the occasion!
The festivities continue with games and fanfare around the giants, then the brass quintet of the Douai Orchestra will entertain at the end of the afternoon with the help of two percussionists.

Museum open from the morning – guided tours only in the afternoon (from 1 p.m.).

  • FROM THURSDAY 2nd TO SUNDAY 5th MAY : 40 FILMS FOR 40 YEARS

Continuous broadcast in the auditorium of 40 corporate films from the Coal Mines of the Northern Mining Basin and Pas-de-Calais.

Please note: The public transport company of the Douai Évéole agglomeration is joining in the festivities of the Historic Mining Center by exceptionally offering a public transport service on line A on Sunday May 5, 2024 morning.

Many visitors are expected as part of these festivities. Guided tours of the mining circuit will be accessible subject to availability (no reservations).

If possible, it is advisable to arrive in the morning (no guided tour on Sunday May 5 morning).
